Aging and My Mid-Life Crisis

I can't believe that I am now 40. It sounds SO OLD. But I don't feel like I should be THAT old. Its depressing. I think I'm having a harder time accepting this then I did for when I turned 30.

It's scary. To be frank and a little macabre, you have to start planning for end of life stuff. There is a lot I have yet to do with my life. But to be planning old people stuff, its scary.

How much longer am I going to live? How can I do this the healthiest that I possibly can? Should I buy life insurance for my other half and I? How can I increase our retirement savings. (Going on a cruise a couple times a year is not helping with that savings.) At what age should I sign up for AARP?

I had one friend die of Pancreatic cancer this past year. It hit him hard and sadly fast. I had another friend in November pass due to complications with pneumonia and his diabetes. I seen him in the store a week or two before he passed and he was out of it. I googled both their names when I did n…

Hammer Nutrition

I love getting stuff in the mail. If it is free, it is the best thing in the world. If I bought it, I am always checking the tracking number of where it is at and when it is going to be in my mailbox. Unless it is something scary from the IRS (which I got today in the mail also *sad face*) I love getting stuff in the mail.

Today I was expecting a package of goodies that I bought to show up in my mailbox.

It arrived!

I tore it open!

I got this box of goodies because the Run For The Hills will be offering Hammer gels and I have never tried the Hammer Nutrition brand. When I get up I usually a cup or 3 of coffee with creamer and sugar, a bowl of oatmeal with a spoon of peanut butter and a half scoop of vanilla whey protein powder. Then I workout. I usually am fueled enough for about a couple hours of weights and treadmill. With the heat in Boise and my job keeping me in the heat and or outdoors a few hours a day, I really feel more energetic and refreshed with some carbs and electrolytes during and after. I felt like buying a bunch of single serving Hammer goodies as a test will be ok. Also, I don't want to have some surprise tummy upsets October 1st. So, it looks like I will be trying at least one or more of the products before, during, and after my workout on Wednesday.

It looks to me that...

is a carry along book of this page. Which is super helpful. Knowing what products, how much, when to take before, during, and after is really helpful to someone like me who if influenced by marketing and advertisements.

What sort of products do you fuel and recover with?
