Aging and My Mid-Life Crisis

I can't believe that I am now 40. It sounds SO OLD. But I don't feel like I should be THAT old. Its depressing. I think I'm having a harder time accepting this then I did for when I turned 30.

It's scary. To be frank and a little macabre, you have to start planning for end of life stuff. There is a lot I have yet to do with my life. But to be planning old people stuff, its scary.

How much longer am I going to live? How can I do this the healthiest that I possibly can? Should I buy life insurance for my other half and I? How can I increase our retirement savings. (Going on a cruise a couple times a year is not helping with that savings.) At what age should I sign up for AARP?

I had one friend die of Pancreatic cancer this past year. It hit him hard and sadly fast. I had another friend in November pass due to complications with pneumonia and his diabetes. I seen him in the store a week or two before he passed and he was out of it. I googled both their names when I did n…

Weekend Roundup

So, like a lot of other bloggers out there lately- I have a lack of posts.

Busy weekend of birthdays and parties.

Thursday night/Fri morn was a TM run - 6 slow and sluggish miles afterwork. 1:13. Of course the heater was blowing on me. Ugh. Seriously, I have said this before. I think I am acclimated to summer weather already. Ugh. Don't get a gym membership at Body Renew!

Saturday morning was a hair appointment. If you want some hair magic- go to Amy at Fete on 8th. She is awesome. No, really. I don't like many things -if you have not noticed that I complain a lot, Amy is someone I have NO complaints about.)

Birthday shopping and then to the BF's work party. I never said, but cutting down some of my bread carbs really helped with losing some of my weight, and I fit into my dress! Oh, and I have a pair of skinny jeans that were always a little tight in the thighs. They fit pretty good on Sunday!

Could I possibly get the BF to take a cute pic of me Saturday night?
 Finger in the way.
 He moved.
Finger in the way of the flash.
 Ugh. I give up.
I did make sure to get a few super flattering pics of him with a company hat on.

Sunday, was a day of pizza and cake eating (BF's sons B-Day, which I felt was a complete disaster. Ugh-teens!) and re-cooperating from imbibing a little bit too much at the company party. Ooops.

Monday afternoon was BOTH workouts on the Bob Harper Ripped Core DVD.

Lets say, I will be feeling this tomorrow.

Tonight will be an easy afterwork run.

How did you spend your weekend? I think I totally had a lack of veggies, and glad it is Monday to help me get back on track!
