Aging and My Mid-Life Crisis

I can't believe that I am now 40. It sounds SO OLD. But I don't feel like I should be THAT old. Its depressing. I think I'm having a harder time accepting this then I did for when I turned 30.

It's scary. To be frank and a little macabre, you have to start planning for end of life stuff. There is a lot I have yet to do with my life. But to be planning old people stuff, its scary.

How much longer am I going to live? How can I do this the healthiest that I possibly can? Should I buy life insurance for my other half and I? How can I increase our retirement savings. (Going on a cruise a couple times a year is not helping with that savings.) At what age should I sign up for AARP?

I had one friend die of Pancreatic cancer this past year. It hit him hard and sadly fast. I had another friend in November pass due to complications with pneumonia and his diabetes. I seen him in the store a week or two before he passed and he was out of it. I googled both their names when I did n…

Booze, Berries, and Getting Faster

Today was a run sort of day. I did 4 miles in 90 degrees. I kept seeing my garmin at the beginning of each mile go under 10min/mi so I walked a little extra every mile so I wouldn't die. I was getting a little dizzy in spots and at the end of 4 miles, I felt like puking. But I didn't. So I guess it was a successful greenbelt slog.

Best pace 6:07. What? What?

Here is some things of my day today.

Berries on the greenbelt ready to pick. I didn't pick any but maybe this weekend! I did however, get some amazing organic Pluots yesterday. I will be consuming my 3rd Pluot of the day soon!

There was NO booze. My heart is broken. Don't tease me like that!

What was your workout today? Did it involve booze, berries, or running?

90 degrees is hot hot hot! Been the story of my life all summer. But just imagine how awesome 70, 60,40's will feel in a few months! :)

    1. The last few weeks have been miserable. Hovering around 100, give or take a few degrees, for the last few weeks. I am SO ready for fall weather!
