The Millennial's Guide To Changing The World Review

This post is sponsored by The Millennial's Guide To Changing The World book by Allison Sher.

I was given a digital copy of this book. I thought that it would be good to read, even though I am a Gen X'er. There is just so much talk about the Millennial's right now that I thought that it would be good to get to know what is going on inside their head.

About the Book  The Millennial's Guide to Changing the World teaches young people everything they need to know to change the world, while building a happy, healthy adult life for themselves. It explains how our current social systems work, the challenges young people are inheriting and how millennials can step into our power to create a critical mass conversion to solve them. Everything from politics to spirituality to love relationships to education to sex to economics to mental health is covered. And it includes 50 or so juicy, true life stories from millennials across the country…

Go Fast. Take Chances.

On New Years Day, when I woke up, I was craving, like, a Green Monster juice. Nothing but fresh fruit and vegetable juice is all I wanted. A totally weird craving for me, but I think I have spent this past week too acidic and my body was telling me I needed to be more alkaline. Does the juice bar/coffee bar in Whole Foods Boise do fresh fruit and veggie juices? Can I get juices at Tree City or just smoothies?

After the 5K, I spent some time on the couch with my laptop. Afterwards, my back and neck started spasming. You know that feeling, if you sneeze or move in one direction too fast you are screwed? Not pleasant. I do blame being too acidic and not warming up before the cold, cold race.

Wednesday after I woke up, I was still spasming. And my throat hurt. Not a good way to "start my work week." It is snowing and I may have to do a bit of shoveling at work tonight. Fingers crossed I can get away with throwing down some ice melt and calling it good. I don't want to spend a whole lot of time outdoors right now. Either way, I am breaking out all my good Patagonia Capilene stuff that I have had for like 6 years because it just works as a warm base layer if I am stuck outside at work.

For my workout today, I went to my clubhouse workout room and there wasn't anyone in there! This is is 2nd of January! It should be FULL of New Years Resolutioners.

Oh well. I am NOT complaining that I have access to a treddy today!

I only did 3 miles (schedueled for 6) but I don't feel 100%. I did some thrusters and split squats after.

Before I went to workout, I wanted to see my official results from yesterdays 5K.

I nearly crapped myself after I looked at my Age Group Place.

I got 3rd in my age group! I had no idea! Did I win anything? Don't age groupers usually get something other then glory? I don't want to seem greedy, and I am fine with the glory. But this is my first official placement for any race. And I left right after I won the raffle because I didn't expect to place at 29 minutes, so I don't know!

This is just a pretty freaking awesome way to start out 2013! Have I not been saying big things are happening this year!? Big things ARE happening!

Go Fast. Take Chances. Is my mantra for this year. You never know how the race will end for you and the other participants!

What has been your best race placement? It seems like an awful lot of people are getting sick. Have you or your family been sick? The BFs kids had bronchitis a month or so ago and I have been lucky enough to dodge it.
