The Pumpkin King 5k

The post is sponsored by Level Up Virtual Runs and no other compensation is given.

I have been slacking on running lately most of this year, I am slowly (a little too slowly) getting back into it. I have gained weight and I have missed it. It seems my life is a non-stop whirlwind and its quite annoying.

I have a future race planned out later this month, and since it is Halloween time and I am excited for the holidays, I am going to jump in and participate in The Pumpkin King 5K Virtual Run.

The one thing that I like about virtual runs is that I can run / walk them anytime and anywhere. Plus, no matter where you live, you can even join me! We can earn the same bling!

The cost is only $25 - which is super reasonable. BUT if you use code PUMPKINKING you can get 10% off! That extra discount is basically a Starbucks Coffee. :-)

I will be running my Virtual Run this weekend - when do you plan on running yours? Are you going to join me in The Pumpkin King 5K?

Countdown to Marathon

I may or may not have told you about a marathon I am doing in a few weeks. Like September 29th - 9 weeks away!

Run 4 Luv Header, Idaho's Valentine's Fun Run

I did the half last year. I really, really wanted to do the full marathon but decided that 2 half marathons in a weekend were going to be challenge enough. (I did a half marathon the day before this one) This race helped cement my desire to put myself to the ultramarathon test.

I don't think I can pose and look cool at any race.

Since I got my running mojo back, I gathered up a free Runners World Smart Coach plan and really hope to not die during this race. I know that 9 weeks isn't a long time to really prepare for a race after such a long time off... but that is why I am giving 12min/mi a shot. I am using the plan below as a rough draft plan. There is a good chance I won't be doing speedwork or tempos, but that's just me being lazy.

The mileage plan.
The Marathon distance scares me. Maybe because it's a bordering running line between fun and serious training/running. I run all distances for fun, but a marathon for fun? That is SO scary to me.

Fave pic, like, ever!
So, I am going to attempt a fun marathon with 9 weeks of training. I had fun at the half last year. I mean, there was WINE on the course. How could I NOT have fun combining 2 of my favorite things again this year?

Running & Drinking - YES!
If there could be wine at all water stops...

You can register here

If you would like to register and run with me this year, use the code RUNINBOISE for a discount of $5 off the 5k, 10k, half and full marathon distances. There is also a kids fun run too!

What are you doing Sept. 29th? Will you run/drink wine with me?
