Another Race Registration

So, since I am sitting at home from work - another sick day, I can't help looking up race and running related stuff.

I registered for another race. I can't stop registering for races!

So, if all goes as planned, I will be doing a race every weekend in April.

I signed up for the Boise Glow 5k on April 6th.

I only decided to enter is because this is on a Saturday evening. And I love being able to run late races on weekends. I don't have to take time off from work on Friday night! Woot woot!

And it is a glow race. I get to dress up in glow in the dark body paint or glow sticks and stuff. How much fun does that sound?!?

Actually, I have wanted to wear one of these glow costumes but there are only so many Ghostland Observatory concerts that I can attend, which was one of the best live shows I have ever been to!

Have you ever ran a glow race? Do you have any fun glow in the dark costume ideas?

New Goodies

Monday and Tuesday were sick days at home for me. I was nursing my cold (its strep) with a mega high dose of antibiotics (2 500mg 3x a day!?!) and thank gawd for the miracles of medicine.

And a hot toddy has been soothing and more then welcomed.

Monday, I didn't get to watch the Biggest Loser, which was a bummer because I was actually home instead of work and the TV was on, but I was too busy forcing the BF to put together the new treddy he bought a few weeks ago. Its a Costco cheapie, its loud and takes up prime real estate in our living room. But it is in a prime location for TV watching, and to hook up a fan to blow on me during a run.

BF giving the treddy some late night love

And if for some reason, I am not working out hard enough, I can always start a fire in our fireplace and get warmed up.

Plan on me complaining about this because its not a Woodway. I could not for the life of me convince the BF to spend $3000 and buy me one. If I want one, I have to buy it myself, and since I am a cheapskate, I took what I didn't have to buy.

And since I have been home, laying around, what is there to do? I watched season 1 of Louie, a few episodes of East Bound and Down, I am caught up with Californication, Nurse Jackie, Dexter. So I guess I should look at goodies I need for the higher miles I will be doing in February and March.

Next big purchase will be a running vest so I can take everything I need with me for my runs.
Nathan Endurance

I plan on putting a McDonalds Cheeseburger in one front pocket and a Krispy Kreme doughnut in the other. That's like 600 calories of quick burning fuel and a whole lot more enjoyable then sucking down 6 gels.

Anyways, besides dreaming of cheezburgers, I did break down and buy some Skratch.

Exercise Hydration Mix
I know everything on the ingredient list!

I really liked this stuff. I bought some single serving packs from Shus a few weeks ago and I liked it well enough to buy a pound of the Lemons and Limes. I did like all the flavors, but I liked Lemon and Limes and the Oranges the best.

I know everyone is a Nuun lover, but is there another electrolyte drink that you consume?

My treddy has the iFit hookups. Does anyone use that? I guesstimate its a waste of $30+ to buy the modules, but just wondering if anyone uses it?

Walking/Running On Ice

Today is another no-workout sick day.

When I was going my miles Saturday afternoon on the greenbelt, I noticed that it was easier to run on the ice then it was to walk. I was confused because running, I am taking more steps and I was going faster.

Thankfully Facebook came to the rescue. A friend posted this link and I had to look at it. And I am sharing it with you because it just made sense to me.

I think running on the ice proves that I can run with my foot landing under my body. A little tough love training method, and I don't recommend it, but I just wanted to share with you all.

Week In Review - Week 9 - 50K Training

Week 9. Wow. Seriously, wow!

I really felt that this was one of the best weeks I have had - but only because some of the crud outside thawed out a bit and I was able to get a few miles in outside.

But then that plague everyone is passing around got to me.

I felt it a bit on Friday night after I had a cup of green tea. I had that little tickle in my throat. I was hoping it was from the tea being strong. But it wasn't.

Monday - Rest I had the night off from work because of the holiday. I went to Meet Me Monday in downtown Boise to get a little walking action in. I also got 2 race registrations taken care of.

Tuesday - 4 scheduled. 4 Completed. I really think this took me well over an hour to get out the door and get to the clubhouse. I really enjoyed my rest day yesterday that it was carrying over to today. I slogged out my miles though.

Wednesday - 6 scheduled. 3 Completed. Another clubhouse treddy slog. It was a total treddy ADD workout. I did hop off the treddy each mile do a few reps with the dumbbells. I needed to mix up this workout so I didn't die from slogging boredom. I also played with the speed and incline on the treddy.

Thursday - 4 scheduled. 4 Completed. Yesterdays workout worked out so well (getting off the treddy and mixing shiz up) that I did 15 hanging leg raises at every half mile, and 10 burpees at every mile. In my personal opinion, the time on the treddy went by so fast, that it was, dare I say, enjoyable. I am going to be incorporating this method into a few more of my training runs during the week. I also took care of my registration for this silly 50K I am training for. I was the very first person to register!

Friday - Rest I really felt fine today. It wasn't until around Midnight that I felt that little tickle in the back of my throat. I am pretty self-aware and I knew what it meant. I really didn't want the plague but my coworker that I work the most with had it the week prior and was gone all of last week.

Saturday 22 scheduled. 22 Completed. Bam. 22 miles - done! I still felt that little tickle in my throat but I was not feverish, so I felt good to go. I decided to do this to kick this plague into gear. The sooner I get it, the sooner I can get over it. Since the weather was above freezing (37 degrees) I threw on my cold weather gear and old shoes and slogged over 9 miles on greenbelt. I really thought it was more cleared off then, but that is what I get trusting what the newspaper says.

A good section of the greenbelt
It was pretty icy in spots, lots of huge puddles you had to wade through, lots of snow, and the Garden City side wasn't even plowed at all. That is where I slipped on my butt. But what was weird was running (11:XX pace) was easier on the ice and snow then walking was. Does that make sense?

They gave me a latte instead of the mocha I asked for.

I had some coffee, went home and changed (I hate having wet shoes) and headed to the BSU rec where I watched big puffy snowflakes come down. I watched on male student walk by, tilt his head back and catch snowflakes in his mouth. I completed over 12 miles on the treddy.

View from the treddy at the rec.

Sunday 10 scheduled. 0 Completed. I felt really stuffy after finishing my 22 miles. Really stuffy. And I finally got that fever I was hoping for. So I took some cold meds and slept for 12 hours. I was crabby and drinking water felt like I was swallowing razor blades. Definitely not going to work this upcoming week and definitely resting up. Thank goodness its NOT the flu and just a really, really bad case of strep.

How were your workouts this week? What is your favorite cold remedy? I may be making a hot toddy tonight. What do you do to beat treddy boredom? Do you mix up incline and speed ?

Shizits Getting Serious

I was filling out my Leave Request form for the days I needed off of work for all the races I have planned for February  March, and April. Since I work until 1:30am on Friday nights, and most races are Saturday mornings, I have to either take Friday off, or just work a few hours, going home at 9pm, with a goal to getting to sleep around 10pm.

April is looking to be a race every weekend?! I got 3 of the 4 weekends blocked out for races, and 2 of the registrations already taken care of.

Just waiting for one registration to open up on Feb 18th... It's is up to you to guess which one. It's a big deal and I wanna get in.

Maybe I should consider doing the High Speed Pursuit to fill up the weekend I don't have anything planned?

High Speed Pursuit
But as I was lining up my days needed off, I noticed that the 50K I have been training for finally has the registrations finally open.

I am the very first person to register for this race, too!

I got my Race Manual already printed out and studying it very carefully.

I'm not sniffing the paper. I am posing.
Shizits just got real up in heres.

PS. Thank you to everyone that emailed telling my local running store that I should be the Inspirational Runner of the Year. I <3 you all.

Nominate Me For Inspirational Runner of the Year!

I am curious to see what will happen if I make this post.

I mean, I think I am pretty awesome and I am sure you think I am pretty awesome too.
Just ask me how awesome I am. I'll tell you I am awesome
But after I noticed a tweet from a local running store, I decided that I am going to make this post and ask for you all to email Shus to nominate me (Tanya Savage) for being such an awesome and inspirational Boise runner.

That would be awesome to have!

Wanna Get Dirty? The Dirty Dash

On January 2, 2013 registrations for The Dirty Dash have opened.

And the registrations only cost $35! But they will only be $35 until January 30, 2013!
The Dirty Dash

I seriously want to do this race. I would love if you did this race with me! The Boise dash is on August 10, 2013. I already have it listed on my Slog list.

pic from Dirty Dash

I have never done a mud run. I have done wet runs (Seattle Marathon) and very cold races (my last couple races). The only races I have done have just been trail and road races, so this is going to be interesting and slightly challenging.

Pic from Dirty Dash.
There is a good chance I will have the same look on my face as girl on right. ;-)

There are lots of locations to choose from - Utah, Seattle, Oregon, Spokane, Billings, Boise, New Mexico, Colorado Springs, and Missoula.

Race registrations are only $35 until January 30th.

Have you ever done a mud run or obstacle course race or anything like it?

Do you want to do this race with me? What do I wear? What sort of things should I put into my workouts to prepare for some of the obstacles?

Meet Me Monday

After a fairly relaxing Monday off from work thanks to the holiday, I had to get a little workout in.

I decided to venture out into the cold and go downtown for Meet Me Monday.

Um, it WAS cold!
This was the 3rd time I have been able to participate in MMM since I sadly am stuck at work during the time that the event goes on.
My First MMM.
My Second MMM

I wandered around downtown with the BF. And he only wanted to wear just a plain hoodie so we walked around very fast because he was so cold. But we did make a pit stop to get some coffee as a warm up.

I just love the whipped cream at Java. Which is sad that I love the whipped cream more then coffee at a coffee joint. Why yes, I AM a coffee snob.

We finished up the event at Old Spaghetti Factory and the BF had to skip out on the raffle to take his daughter to dance class.

And of course after he left, his name was called for a raffle prize. He would have won a MMM scarf.

But like the celeb that I am, I was noticed. Fellow #SweatPink Ambassador RunCrazyGirl.

I guess if you post enough pictures of yourself and put them on the internet, people WILL eventually notice you. ;-)

Like I said the other day, I am doing my best to take the worst pics all the time. As seen in the Deer In The Headlights look below. And I was smiling. I swear!

@runinboise & @runcrazygirl
What was your workout on Monday?

New Race Registrations & Skirts

Today has been a very nice rest day. I have been quite productive and thankfully because of the holiday, I have the night off from work. It is nearing 4PM and I am still in my PJ's. I have not even brushed my teeth or taken a shower yet. Good thing there is no one in the house who can appreciate my stank and I have not ventured very far from the couch. But I did finish up 2 loads of laundry, and a load of last nights dishes. I got my budget in line, and had to do a little online shopping.

I registered officially for 2 races, which are official Team Beef races.

St. Patricks Day Fun Run (Basic 5) March, 16, 2013 Boise, ID

Beat Coach Pete 5K April 13, 2013 Boise, ID

I have never done either of these races before. And if Coach Pete ever decides to leave Boise State, I wonder what will happen to this race? I believe Coach Pete was under 29/27 minutes the last 2 years of this race that I have paid attention.

And I had to get another sparkle skirt to match my Team Beef shirt. Eventually I will have all the Team Sparkle colors. I already have pink, black, blue, and gunmetal.

Beefy Shirt

Team Sparkle Skirt

I just noticed that Team Sparkle now has white skirts, which are $10 more then the regular skirts. I want a white one but I think I will hold off until I get terribly bored with the red, or just have to stitch up my own. Or does anyone have a sewing machine that could make me one or two skirts if I send fabric ect? I really don't have the patience to sew anything up by hand. And since I have had way too much coffee today, I really am lacking patience!

Anyways, I do plan on wearing the above shirt and skirt combo on the Run4Luv race in 3 weeks. I think I will be looking pretty awesome, but wearing red in a St. Patty's race will be awkward.

Is wearing red on St. Patty's day a pinch or a kiss?

Anyways, off to venture to get cleaned up and head down to Meet Me Monday!

Should I wear a green sparkle skirt with my red Team Beef shirt?
Do you have a sewing machine I could borrow?

Week In Review - Week 8 - 50K Training

If you are interested in looking at the previous weeks of my 50K training, click here

Was this week a cut back week or was this a cut back week!?

With the weather being insanely cold I am dreading the gym. I kinda want it to warm up just a tad and be able to enjoy having the option of doing some of my miles outside - I like options, even if I don't take advantage of them. I just can't get it to stick in my head that I can be outdoors and not die at near zero temps. I can handle the heat way better then I can handle the cold.

Monday - Rest - and rest I did!

Tuesday - 4 miles scheduled - 4 completed - I went to my clubhouse gym to slog these miles. I am not sure what was causing my crampy quad from a few days prior, but I had a crampy quad again. I ran through it, while not the best idea, I don't know what else to do. I am hydrated, my electrolytes should be ok, my form feels ok, my shoes are ok (but honestly, the Brooks Pures will be transitioned out in a month-to maybe some Hokas), I have been stretching and foam rolling. I am just not sure what the dealio is.

I try my best to take the worst pictures ever ;-)
Wednesday - 6 miles scheduled - 4 completed Clubhouse treddy. I had another cramp in my right quad. I ran then it cramped then I walked it out today since this has been going on since Sunday? It's just not right, man. So 2 miles short. Plus I have a hard time just finishing 6 miles at the clubhouse on the ghetto treddy.

Thursday - 4 miles scheduled - 0 completed Took today as an extra rest day because of the crampy leg and I wanted to just lay around and watch some TV. Plus, I had to take my night off from work since I had my Team Beef orientation to get to. I seriously love Idaho and I love food and I love to run, so being a part of something that I love is just great.

Friday - Rest - and rest I did!

Saturday - 10 miles scheduled - 6 completed I just wasn't feeling this run today. I had planned on 10 miles, but really was low energy. I am an emotional wreck. Despite thinking I am going to use this "baggage" I have to carry with me to spur me forward instead of weigh me down, it is quite draining. And I thought that I forgotten the lock on my locker so I had to jump off the treddy at 2 miles and go downstairs to check. I locked it but I don't remember locking it. So, yeah. Emotional/distracted mess here.

  Sunday - 6 miles scheduled - 10 completed
I started out with the breakky above - smoked salmon on a bagel, coffee and Skratch. I really love the Skratch. I liked the pineapple, I loved the oranges, I loved the lemons & limes, which I had today. I didn't care for raspberry - I didn't find it as refreshing as the other flavors, but it tasted like a real raspberry, instead of artificial, so I would give it another go. They taste better with ice cold water then water right out of the tap. And if I have a Skratch in the morning and have an alcoholic drink at night, I don't feel like the alcohol affects me at all. I never feel tipsy, which is weird. Anyways, I bought and tried all the flavors and will be making another purchase of these products again!

For the workout, I was just low on energy and dreading going out into the cold. It took me over 3 hours to get out of the door. But I ran 2 miles and walked the rest. I watched a couple episodes of Lucky Louie on my iphone. Louie C.K. is so freaking funny.

How was your week this week? Any good shows that you watched, meals your ate or good workouts you got in?

Team Beef Idaho 2013

I had great news I have wanted to share with you for nearly 2 weeks now.

But I wanted to go to orientation, and meet with the group, get my official shirt ect ect to make sure it was a real deal - because I was so excited I was sure it was just a dream. Especially since I didn't get to be an ambassador of other companies that I willingly used and promoted on the blog and twitter throughout the year. Pouty face.

But I did get to be a member of Team Beef Idaho 2013. So freaking exciting!

I put in my application last year and was on the wait list since then. The team is currently full but you can still be put on the wait list. And if you want to run for Team Beef for the Boise Ironman 70.3, you really should apply!

I am not a vegetarian, and I will never, ever be. I do love all meat, (and all food stuff) no matter what animal it is, but I do know that beef is so important to so many people.

And I learned tonight at the orientation that there are more head of cattle in Idaho then people. Beef (and dairy) is THAT important!

A few key points about lean beef that I learned at my orientation-

3oz of lean beef is 150 calories.

Lean beef contains 10 essential nutrients including -

Protein: Eating high-quality protein, like lean beef, at each meal helps maintain muscle mass, supplies energy for your body, keeps you strong, and helps build and repair muscle tissue.

Zinc: Helps your body heal when you’re injured and boost your immune system.

Iron: Helps carry oxygen in your blood, which you need to perform your best.

Phosphorus: Helps build strong bones.

If you see me at a local race, there is a good chance I will be in the shirt in the first pic. The BF called me a "beefy girl" and lots of jokes will be had about how much I love meat. Yes, I have been hungry enough to eat a whole cow after some of my long runs this past summer.

And I think I have came close a time or two. ;-)

Big Juds 1 pound burger

Tell me something good about your week? What is your favorite way to eat beef?

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

I noticed on Twitter today that Charlie Engle posted a new blog post and strangely I have thought about it since I have read it.

I am just gonna post a blirp from the blog post that kinda resonates with me right now, and I am not really sure why. My head is a mess because I am tired (insomnia, thanks) with my thoughts towards training (so many 20+ milers gets scary/boring alone with the icy weather), and dealing with relationship crap (how could someone flush nearly 6 years down the toilet so quickly?). I guess this quote could be applied to anything you have, whatever "baggage" we have to carry.
...I don't wish to forget the past few years. Instead, I will blend all that I have learned along way with the new lessons that are on the path ahead. Plainly put, I have to carry all this shit with me anyway so I might as well use it.
I have a strong belief that endurance is not a physical attribute but is more of an attitude. I have learned, from many years of hard work, that if I can just keep moving through the hard, things will get better. It really is that simple. It's not easy, but its simple.
Anyways, just a quickie blog post for my own future reference.

What are your thoughts on Endurance? What do you think endurance is?

Week In Review - Week 7 - 50K Training

This is my 7th week of training for my 50K. All of the week recaps are below.

50K Training Plan
Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5
Week 6

This week of training I was all over the place mentally. There is still repercussions from the whole Xmas fiasco. (How do you apologize for hurting people after they hurt you?) And I don't have many pics to share. The weather has me down, although I do love shoveling snow, I am not a fan of the snow and the insanely cold temps. And I feel I may be getting the sickness everyone has been passing around. (A coworker had an ear infection, and was at work all week-ugh) I have had a sore throat for 3 days, but no other symptoms. (fingers crossed I DO get sick AND the BF gets it, since he is going all OCD about not getting sick.)

Monday - Rest - Actually, not really a rest day because I was outside at work shoveling snow for 2 straight hours. I was sweaty. I felt like I got a real good workout in at the end of the night. My upper back was getting tight, so I was mildly curious as to how I felt the next morning to run.

Tuesday - 4 miles scheduled, 4 completed. I actually felt pretty darn good with not a whole lot of DOMS. I hopped on the clubhouse treddy and slogged out my 4 miles.

Wednesday - 6 scheduled, 3 completed. I braved the drive to BSU and actually found a parking spot right in the front of the building. I got such a late start to this run and ran out of time to bust out my last 3 miles. 3 miles is better then no miles. I did do an ab workout from the Nike NTC app.

Thursday - 4 scheduled, 0 completed. The weather was so bad, ice underneath snow that fell all night long that it was a snow day for the schools. I didn't have a free treddy at the clubhouse and there was no way I was running outside, so I didn't run. But I did do 2 workouts on the Nike NTC app, and lifted some weights after.

Friday - Rest It was Friday. I slept in. It was great!

Saturday - 22 scheduled, 15 completed. Another late start to run. I stayed up a little too late Friday, which was quite unusual. So a 3 hour later bedtime, meant 3 hours later waking up. Which means, I got the the Rec 3 hours later then what I would have liked. And I didn't have enough time to finish 22 miles on the indoor track before they closed at 8pm. So 15 was better then nothing.

Sunday - 8 scheduled, 15 completed. I finished off my weekend miles with another 15 miler on very tired legs. I had that sore throat I was talking about earlier. I also had an unexpected gut ache all day/night. But I had 2 people who saw me working out Saturday and had to ask me about how many miles I did and how long I was working out. They said that I kept a pretty even pace and I looked good. I felt like a celebrity at the gym. Do you know how much I LOVED saying to them that I am training for a 50K?! I usually keep to the treddy but I am glad I did both days on the indoor track. My right quad was pretty crampy but I kept running at a slower pace with more walk breaks. I know I walked more then 3 miles. I don't know if I should have ran, but my legs sure felt like they did do 30 miles on Sunday night. I had some major tired legs.

Anyways, just a quick recap to this past week. We will see how this week progresses, if I do get sick ect.

Hot Chocolate Pics

I have good, very good, running related news I want to share with you. But it is going to have to wait until next week. :-)

It may or may not be the biggest deal of my 2013 and it does change up what races I will be doing for the rest of the year. I was planning running a marathon in Nevada in March, but that is going to be a back  burner deal for now.

Anyways, next Friday there will be a bloggy update with my good news. :-)

But I DO want to share with you today one of my favorite pics from the Hot Chocolate Run 5K from December.

Don't mind my wonky claw hand. I was getting ready to High 5 at the finish line. I don't know if it is the rare smile on my face, or my hair blowing back, but wow-check out the FROST on my headband!

 Right at the start.

This had to have been near the start since we were so close together.

Nope, this I think was the turnaround because my gloves came off at the 1st mile.

I am concentrating real hard here. And I have my glove on so this was near the start.

And I think this pic is right before the lady stopped in front of me. See how close we all were in the pack?

Anyways, the top pic is my fave pic.

Anything fun planned for this weekend?

Winter Wonderland

Yesterday, Monday, was a rest day.

I did not get to rest like I wanted.

On my way to work

It snowed. A lot. And when I got to work, the first thing that I had to do, for the first two hours of my shift, was shovel snow. Non-stop.

Thank gawd for good Sorel boots! I shoulda tucked my jeans into my boots!

I had to look online and see how many calories shoveling snow burned. I guess Livestrong says 200 calories per half hour for a 140 pound person. I am over 140 pounds and I shoveled for 2 hours. So a guesstimation of over 800 calories? I sure felt like it by the end of the night!

I was a sweaty mess, and all I wanted after was a really good hot chocolate. Not the sugary Swiss Miss crap.
From my Instagram

I had a packet of apple cider, so it had to do to warm me up.

I was tired by the end of the night. My upper back really felt like I got a good workout. I was praying for no DOMS because I had a run to do today - Tuesday. I slept amazing Monday night.

Luckily, thankfully, I had very  mild muscle soreness. My glues and my upper back needs some foam rolling and stretching love.

I went to my clubhouse and slogged out 4 miles.
Instagram pic, again.

Are you on Instagram? Do you like to shovel snow? I don't mind it but I have to have the right gear, like snow boots and quick dry clothes. What was your workout today/yesterday?

Week In Review - Week 6 - 50K Training

This has been my 6th week of Ultra Training. If you are interested, here are my previous training weeks.
50K Training Plan
Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5

I can't say that this was the best week ever, but it was a pretty awesome week. It was an pretty freaking perfect way to start the year. Almost. From the start of the week to the end, my running emotional state for the most part has been happy, positive and stoked for what my running future holds.

Monday - Rest After the past week off of work, I had to sadly go back. It was only for 2.5 hours, but it was work. I had quite the experience at my New Years Eve dinner after. FYI- I take my NYE very seriously. The restaurant kinda screwed up, even though they know me by name. I was a little disappointed but an $80 dinner or so was free, so not complaining.

Tuesday - 4 Scheduled - 3.1 completed Today was a New Years Day 5K. Please read about it here if you have not. It was pretty cold, but awesome.

My fave pic during the run.
Wednesday - 6 Scheduled - 3 completed I was so freaking amped during this run. I did it on the treadmill in my clubhouse. But for whatever reason, I only did half my miles. Maybe because I found out before hand that I won 3rd place in my age group and I was so happy. I never checked my results after the race since I ran because I wanted to run. I had NO idea that I won in my AG. I was SO freaking happy. It was my very first win. Even though it is JUST a ribbon, it is very special to me and I will keep it forever. :-)

3rd place!

Thursday - 4 Scheduled - 4 completed I really, really didn't want to run at my clubhouse treddy. Its not the best treddy and I had a feeling that someone was going to be on it. New Years Resolutioners and all. So I ventured out of my house and to the BSU rec. I pounded out 4 miles on the treddy while watching Reno 911. That show is so funny.

Friday - Rest Thankfully a rest day. I just got my 1st iphone. I'm all sorts of fancy now. I sadly had to upgrade my Blackberry Torch. I had to spend my time today buying accessories and downloading apps. Are there any apps you think I have to have?

Saturday - 10 Scheduled - 10 completed I felt awesome during the first 7 miles of this run. But after that, I mentally fell apart. But I finished at basically the same pace I was hoping for so all is ok. My goal is to get to a point where this run is comfortably mentally and physically multiple times a week before I have to go to work.
I'm on Instagram now.
Sunday - 4 scheduled - 4 completed I really wanted to push myself to go fast for this run, but tried to hold back. I tried.
Tried to go slow.

MelRunsTheWorld has this obsession with the stairmill. I decided to give it a go. I have been a member of the BSU rec center for over 5 years and I have used the stair stepper once. Never the stair mill.
Death Machine

I did 100 floors in 28 minutes. Let's say I think my sweatfest may have scared off the girl on the treadmill next to me.

I was hella sweaty.

How was your workouts this week? Have you ever been on the Death Machine AKA Stepmill? Are you watching Biggest Loser?

Scheduled Rest Day & Pics

Today is a rest day and as much as I would love to lay around in bed, I have to get my shopping on. Which will hopefully be restful and therapeutic.

I have officially upgraded my over 2 year old Blackberry Torch to an iPhone. Kicking and screaming the whole time, but I didn't have a choice. It was time. I really loved the Torch & really wished RIM would get their shizit together for the future. I was willing to be loyal because that phone was durable. I mean it lasted 2 years and I dropped it, got it wet, sweated on it and got my salt and sunscreen on it while holding it to my face while running. Anyways, Friday is my scheduled rest day and iPhone accessories will be purchased.

Pics from my NYD5K are available online, which seems rather quick, but maybe because I have been mentally preoccupied with other things I have not thought about the pictures that much.

I think this is the best pic of my New Years Day 5K.

Do not copy my sexy hair.
I am actually smiling, not doing anything really dorky with my hands, you don't see my tum-tum rolls. I approve this pic.

Now, for the other pics, well, pretty much like any other race pic I take.

I believe this was right at the finish line. I am not flashing a peace sign or flipping off the camera. I was holding my black gloves.

Seriously, don't copy my sexy hair do.
Yep. It must have been near the finish line if Mr Man behind me was checking his garmy. ;-)

I like the first pic.

Oh look. I waved. Look at my stride. Seriously, you would not have guessed I was under 10 minute miles!

I could have also ran faster if I had enough energy to be able to wave and smile at the finishline. ;-)

Anyways, just giving myself a hard time about my pics.

What are the necessary (preferably free because I am a cheapskate) apps I need to download for my iPhone? Foursquare, Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, and a couple of horoscope apps are all I have used for my Blackberry.
