In my small town, I was hunting for a turkey trot. I didn't want to drive 2 hours to Boise and I knew the Twin Falls YMCA was going to have one, but they didn't have any sign up links online. No info posted on the website other then "more information soon!" No, I don't want to sign up race day morning, I want to sign up, and be ready to run come race day morning!
THAT is why I chose to drive 40 minutes east of me for this race. The Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot HAD a website. And you could register! And if you shared the race on Facebook, you could save $1.00. Not much in savings but since this 5K was under $20, it was a total deal!

I started out at an OK pace. But for some reason, my knee just locked up on me. I just couldn't move it and I know I was visibly limping. I warmed up pre-race, although I know I could have done more. I didn't drink as much water as I could have the days before the race. My knee actually hurt while running. It don't hurt while walking so I don't know why it decided to be cranky. Since I started at an OK pace, I just gradually slowed down and finished at 31:43. You were responsible for keeping track of your finishing time and writing it on your tear off piece on your bib and submitting it. Old school but still fine.
