The Millennial's Guide To Changing The World Review

This post is sponsored by The Millennial's Guide To Changing The World book by Allison Sher.

I was given a digital copy of this book. I thought that it would be good to read, even though I am a Gen X'er. There is just so much talk about the Millennial's right now that I thought that it would be good to get to know what is going on inside their head.

About the Book  The Millennial's Guide to Changing the World teaches young people everything they need to know to change the world, while building a happy, healthy adult life for themselves. It explains how our current social systems work, the challenges young people are inheriting and how millennials can step into our power to create a critical mass conversion to solve them. Everything from politics to spirituality to love relationships to education to sex to economics to mental health is covered. And it includes 50 or so juicy, true life stories from millennials across the country…

Holiday Fitness Challenges

I have been getting a ton of emails about some holiday fitness challenges. Have you noticed these pop up into your inbox? People are putting out holiday fitness challenges all over the place!

There are 2 that appeal the most to me. One of those, this cheapskate actually spent money on! I don't know if it is a worthy investment but it ends a year from now! I'm hoping it will keep me on track this next year!

The main one I see everywhere is the FitApproach and Run To The Finish Holiday Sweat Challenge.

Once you’ve signed up, pick out any of the logos and post it in your sidebar or in a post announcing your participation. Because it’s proven that the bigger your support circle the more successful you’ll be and hey if your friends are on the #HolidaySweat train maybe they won’t send you cookies for a gift!
From Here

I have signed up for this challenge, as I do need to get back into the workout swing of things.

The best way to ensure your skinny jeans fit like they were custom tailored to your rockin’ bod on January 1 is to hop on the #HolidaySweat train right now!
All aboard for an 8 week journey of workouts, prizes, support and community building!
It should come as no surprise that EVERY year we find ourselves with age old debate of holiday BALANCE. How to fit in a workout, while wrapping gifts, slogging through an unexpected shovel session and somehow finding the mental willpower to turn down that second (ok fourth) holiday cookie in the office kitchen.
The mere idea of balance is as fabled as those sugar plum fairies. We envision a perfect day where we wake up gloriously without an alarm clock, breakfast was made by our adorable loved ones, we hit our favorite workout class and the instructor comments on our spectacular form, which rolls in to a day at work where we cross everything off our to do list.
Ain’t gonna happen. BUT we can strike a balance throughout the entire holiday season and that’s what this challenge will help you do!

The Holiday Sweat Challenge is originally the Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge from, but took on a new shape and name when Sweat Pink joined the party.

This challenge has been a hit every year not just because of the prizes {though the swag is ridiculous}, but because of the community that’s forged in these times where we so desperately need support!
Need help getting in your morning workouts? Last year we had people texting each other to hold them accountable!
Need ideas for a gluten free Thanksgiving? Trust me your sisters in sweat will get you any recipe you need.
Need to vent a little about the fluffy one that just destroyed your favorite running shoes? We’ve got your back for that and the in-laws too.
Need to lose weight? Every year we hear from those who managed to do what others consider impossible, drop weight while enjoying their holidays!!

Have you signed up? If you want to join me, you can do so here!

There are some daily prompts that will also help me stay in the blogging game during this challenge. I'm sure everyone is bored with all wine, all the time. And blogging about my running actually helps keep me on track.

Today’s #HolidaySweat Prompt is….
What’s your minutes goal this week? How will you get there?! #pranastyle @prana #holidaysweat @runtothefinish @fitapproach #sweatpink

I'm aiming for 2 hours this week. I have a race on the 11th (Veteran's Day 5K) and I am going to follow a Coach Jenny plan. More on that in the next bloggie post!

Today’s #HolidaySweat Prompt is….
Show us your sweaty style! What’s your favorite workout outfit or gear? #pranastyle @prana #holidaysweat @runtothefinish @fitapproach #sweatpink

Right now, I don't have a favorite gear item. I did just order 3 new pairs of shoes from Running Warehouse (PS if you use code FB15D, you can take 15% off the clearance items!)

2 pair of Hoka's and one pair of Pearl Izumi's for me. Plus there is a pair of Brooks Pure Flows for the other half for Christmas - shhh, don't tell!

Has anyone tried the Pearl Izumi EM Road N0? I love the colors, so I hope I love the fit of the shoes!

Next up, I'm going to share more about the Coach Jenny Challenge I actually spent money on!

Are you participating in any holiday workout challenges? If so, lemme know below!

  1. I did the RuntotheFinish challenge a couple of years ago...just may jump back on the bandwagon this year.

    1. You should join in. With Prana a sponsor, it's going to be exciting! :-)
