Aging and My Mid-Life Crisis

I can't believe that I am now 40. It sounds SO OLD. But I don't feel like I should be THAT old. Its depressing. I think I'm having a harder time accepting this then I did for when I turned 30.

It's scary. To be frank and a little macabre, you have to start planning for end of life stuff. There is a lot I have yet to do with my life. But to be planning old people stuff, its scary.

How much longer am I going to live? How can I do this the healthiest that I possibly can? Should I buy life insurance for my other half and I? How can I increase our retirement savings. (Going on a cruise a couple times a year is not helping with that savings.) At what age should I sign up for AARP?

I had one friend die of Pancreatic cancer this past year. It hit him hard and sadly fast. I had another friend in November pass due to complications with pneumonia and his diabetes. I seen him in the store a week or two before he passed and he was out of it. I googled both their names when I did n…

Week In Review - Week 2 - 100 MILE Training

Here we go onto week 2 of my hundo training!

Monday - Scheduled rest day but since I didn't do anything the previous couple of days before, I had to get a couple of miles in. The other half is still not feeling well and I did a few minutes on my elliptical and walked 90 minutes on the treddy.

Not my dream elliptical but it was cheap.

Tuesday - I got 1 mile in on the treddy. I adjusted the belt because I think it was slipping. I thought I was going to get a few more miles in after I went to the Clif ribbon cutting, but it didn't happen.

Wednesday - Yep. Nothing here. The other half even got on my case about it. BUT I look up 3 races to run in California and Oregon at the end of this month.

Thursday - 90 minutes on the treaddy. I ran / walked as my right knee and glute was causing me grief. Other then that, I felt pretty darn good on the treddy.

Friday - Since my extra bonus rest days, I am moving around some of the schedueled training. I did today's run yesterday. But I did 5 miles.

Saturday - My slackerness in training is showing. We went out of town all day so no running was to be had, but I did walk a few miles outside according to my phone.

Sunday - Another no running day as I was on a sewing kick that I had to take advantage of. I made a skirt that I plan to wear on vaycay later this month, and possibly a half marathon that I am completely untrained for.
