I got this article in my email and thought it would be good to share it with all of you. Since I know we all have the abundance of food available, there are quite a lot of times, I never FEEL hungry. The info below really makes you conscience of what you are feeling.

Understanding the Three Types of Hunger
We eat for a variety of reasons and our body has a variety of organs attached to our food choices and hunger. Below are the different types of hunger to help you realize all that goes into every day food choices.

PHYSICAL HUNGER
FROM STOMACH
EMOTIONAL HUNGER FROM HEAD OR HEART
SENSORY HUNGER FROM EYES, EARS, NOSE, MOUTH
* Builds gradually
* Develops suddenly
* Eyes (sight of food)
* Source is from the
stomach
* Source is above the stomach from the head or heart. Sometimes stems from a longing for something or boredom
* Ears (sound of eating)
* Occurs several hours after a meal
* Unrelated to time
* Nose (smell of food)
* Goes away when full
* Persists despite fullness
* Touch (mouth feel of food)
* Eating leads to feeling
of satisfaction
* Eating leads to guilt and
shame
* Tongue (taste of food)
You can ask yourself a few things when you experience the different types of hunger:
1)    Am I biologically hungry? If yes, honor your hunger. I not, ask yourself the following questions.
2)    What am I feeling? Listen to what the mind says and the thoughts going

through your head. This is not easy. Write down your thoughts and feelings or sit with your feelings and experience them if you can.

3)    What do I need? What do you hunger for? Is there an unfulfilled need?

4)    Ask for help and find others way to release what you're feeling such as getting out of the house, walking, chewing gum, gardening or talking to a professional.
