Happy Halloween!!! Drinkie Edition

I just got done running 6 miles.

And people say that chocolate milk is the best recovery drink.

I bought a chocolate milk I am excited to recover with.

Naughty Cow. What an awesome name.

If I wasn't going to my 2nd job after this post, I would have to have a little taste...

And to keep in touch with the holiday spirit today, I bought more spirits. But with a pumpkin flavor.

Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin.

And I have been wanting this Fulton's Harvest Pumpkin Pie for over a year now. I had to order it online since I couldn't find it anywhere locally.

I made this with it last night.

 I'll post a pic soon.

What are you dressed up as for halloween? Have you tried any of the things above?

I'm An Addict

I took a full 3 weeks off from any sort of working out after my marathon. Well, I moved house by myself 2 days after that, which I was more sore from that then the run... but I'm not counting that as a workout. I needed the last few weeks to get settled and into my new single runner girl routine. :-)

During those few weeks, I have missed running. And working out. And moving my body. Like, really missed it.

Oh man, I craved it. I was getting a little twitchy and a little cranky. That's why I think I'm an addict.

I needed to work my muscles. 3 weeks off and a desk job during the day has me sad. I have started doing daily planks and few moves with some dumbbells I have. I sneak in some lifting at work when no one is watching. Along with some selfies. Can we keep all that a secret?

I kinda want to get other body parts as gnarly as my leggies.

I have a little more free time on weekends so a short routine of burpees with a Bosu ball, planks and squats always happens before a r…

Somersault Snack Co. Review

Last year, I had a surprise delivered to me. And earlier in the month, I got another goodie box to tell you about!

It was a box of Somersault Snacks!

Somersaults are little crunchy snacks made with sunflower seeds and toasted grains.

Sunflower seeds, the #1 ingredient in Somersaults, are a nutritionally dense food, power packed with antioxidants, protein, vitamin E, minerals and healthy fats

4x more antioxidants than blueberries... More fiber than an apple... AND 50% more protein than almonds!

The top two flavors – Pacific Sea Salt and Cinnamon Crunch- are now certified as GMO free by the NonGMO Project.

The Dutch Cocoa helps me resist all the Halloween candy I keep getting offered! A nice balance of choco-sweetness!

Can you see all those sunflower seeds in the nuggets? Really good if you like eating roasted, salted sunflower seeds, which I do!

I love snacking on the Santa Fe Salsa and adding Cinnamon Crunch to my yogurt.

Somersaults have a great website, loaded with lots of inf…

Idaho Wine Run Marathon

So, I did this crazy thing a few weeks ago. (WEEKS ago. Yea I know. I'm a little late on all of this...) I ran/COMPLETED a marathon (Idaho Wine Run) and I didn't train as well (really, not much at all) that I could have/would have liked. But, the Idaho Wine Run said they would comp my entry if I shared my experience. I would have ran this with or without a comped entry. I did the half last year - and I really wanted to do the full. So that is what I chose to do for this year!

See, look. I have not done many miles during training.

None, 2, 10, 30, 6, none - then race. Pretty freakin sad when I want to get back up to where I was when I was training for the ultra earlier this year. And that 30 miles was done in 1 weekend...

That evening before the race, I slept really well. Much better then I think for any other race before. There WAS some nerves happening. But I felt rested. Brekky was a NUUN and coffee and toast with PB. I took a Chobani & banana & some R4 for aft…
