Struttin' For Stuffin' Race Recap

Yesterday, I did the Struttin' For Stuffin' 2.5 mile race in Nampa.


Good news, I placed in my AG. And I was someone's rabbit the whole race. FYI - lots of pics below.

I woke up early. Like 6am early. Had toast and coffee. Just a few race jitters. Not much but had them until the start line. Got to the race start 45 minutes early. Got my bib & shirt, which was super cute.

  After that, I went back to my car and listened to my new favorite song, Rage, for 20 minutes on repeat - which prolly isn't appropriate for kids and easily offended peeps.



I did a quick sloggy warm up 15 minutes before the start and went to the start line to size up my competition.


And to be caught in my natural state twittering.


Race started and I went out, what didn't seem like fast, but I guess it was. That first mile ended up at 8min/mi!

My Next Races

I have been trying to get a bit of running in here and there. It was first there wasn't enough time in the week to get a run in. Now, I get to use the cold weather as an excuse. :-)

I am going to be getting rid of one of my jobs and sticking with the lower paying, but more enjoyable job. Only because I want to run more. That will leave me with cold weather as an excuse to not run. :-) Sorta but not really since I work at a gym with treddys and an indoor track...

I am itching to register and run a few winter races. TD5K and Struttin' For Stuffin'. I have never done a Thanksgiving day race and there are 2 in the Boise area that I want to do. Sadly, both start at the same time so that isn't an option.

I am registered for the Struttin' For Stuffin'. $2 from every registration goes to help a runner who's house burnt down while completing her first 100 mile race. 

I am so excited about the T-day race that I even bought a new hat to wear.

Sad Runner

I was looking at some of the race pics I have not looked at from the Idaho Wine Run.

Some, I look quite clueless.


Some would make a good ad for Pocketfuel. Proof I did have it with me.

I had to laugh at the last aid station pics because I reminded myself of the Sad Keanu meme.

It was almost the end of the race. I was sad, but happy it was almost done. :-)

My Burrito Baby

I finally got in a very slow and sloggy run. I have not ran since Sunday, and it makes me sad working 60 hour weeks. I did include some crosswalks and I was picking up cans for recycling and such during the time below. But I felt SO sloooow in my leg turnover.


I ate a Baja Fresh steak & shrimp burrito for dinner before my run. That thing was gone in a flash. I was so hungry. I had a bagel with PB & banana for brekky and the best flavor of yogurt for lunch. You are welcome to figure out my calories for me. I'm too lazy/tired/busy to type it into DailyPlate.

Yea. I can eat anything before a run and even during with the exception of caffeine in my gels. Not much upsets my gut where I am looking at bushes to see if they provide enough bun cover.  But I am now sure burritos are one thing that make running quite unpleasant. I really felt like I had a bun in the oven tonight.

And after the burrito, I think I know what it feels like to run while preggy. I had a burrito baby in …
