Have you entered my Giveaway this week? I also have more, very exciting giveaways happening very, very soon! Trust me, even the BF wants to enter and win it for himself - it's THAT awesome!

I have really struggled with finding my place this year. I think maybe you have noticed it too. My race times gotten slower, training and blogging became more erratic. My depression and anxiety became intolerable. I have had too many days spent laying in bed since July, crying because my depression was so out of control. I really felt so many things were (and still are) out of my control. Change is very hard for me and I spent / wasted a lot of time this year digging in my heels saying "But this is what worked! This is how it was before!" My weight started creeping back up to the point where it was embarrassing and uncomfortable. I really struggled with going to Alaska for a month and moving away from my beloved Boise to small town Idaho - where the nearby outdoor availability for re…

Ozeri Digital Pedometer Review

This is a post sponsored by Ozeri and no other compensation has been given.
I was asked if I wanted to review an Ozeri 4x3motion Digital Pocket 3D Pedometer with Tri-Axis Technology, in Black I said yes. Even though it is such a basic device - its not a newfangled fitbit or any other of those new fitness trackers. I still know that it can help me be accountable to moving away from my desk a little more often.

I can't decide on any other fitness tracker. Plus they do seem kinda spendy for me to spend on myself. If Santa brings me one this holiday, that would be great, but I just can't decide which other fancy one will be best for me.

This one appears to be good enough at a more then reasonable price!

My Latest Sewing Projects!

If you are interested in seeing more about the previous running skirt inspiration, I posted about that here - Turkey Day, My first skirtskirt tutorial

The BF didn't want to workout with me today at the YMCA & he wanted to get chores done around the house before the weekend trip to Boise for the Christmas Run.

That gave me plenty of time to play around with the sewing machine!

I looked in the fabric drawer that I have and found a bunch of fabric and elastic for skirts on the "to-Do list." All cheap, clearance sparkly fabric that I can't pass up! I also had black thread in the sewing machine.

I started with this skirt first. It's black and gold and multicolored dots. I didn't want to change the black out of the machine. I'm so ambitious!

This fabric was was clearance remnant bought on a whim and it just wasn't the width that I needed. So I  cut the fabric in half and sewn the short end halves together as shown below. I hope you kinda understan…

Idaho Candy Company Huckleberry Gems

Have you had these before? The Idaho Candy Company Huckleberry Gems?

The BF gets a box of these for every Christmas - FOR LIFE!

The Idaho Candy Company had a contest to design a new candy for them. They have the yummy Idaho Spud Bars and the Cherry Cordials. Yum!

In the contest description it said who the 3 judges would be. The marketing director, the owner and his son (it was a 9 year old kid) I believe. The BF took a page from the old Don Draper, sell to the judges. Thinking that their idea was unique, with the huckleberry, it wasn't... BUT since the BF & his mother had a background in marketing & production. So designed the candy so the company could utilize existing equipment for production. Also, it was Idaho specific, as Idaho is the Gem state - this all appealed to marketing. And a 9 year old kid judge, you know he just wants the candy. Needless to say, the BF gets a box of these for every Christmas for life! Either Idaho Candy Company has to go out of business or…

ToiletTree Bamboo Double Hamper Review

This is a post sponsored by ToiletTree. No other compensation was given.

I got word that ToiletTree was looking for people to share their line of ecofriendly bamboo products. Since I help the environment as much as I can by picking up recyclables when I run and try to run or bike my errands as much as possible, I felt that I can hop on board with their products!

I received the Deluxe Bamboo Hamper. I liked the simplicity of the look. The style was clean and unfussy. It can fit in with a wide variety of home decors! The BF likes that it is bamboo (he loves wood furniture) and looks a whole lot better then the mesh baggie system that's made for dorm rooms instead of an adults bedroom.

I like the two sides to this thing as it makes my life easier when doing laundry - separating the lights and darks! The size is just the right size where I have it in my bedroom! The baggies remove easily to transport the laundry to the washer and to wash if needed. And since my workout clothes are goi…

Giving Homemade Christmas Gifts

One of the best things about the BF's mother (excluding the fact that she bore the BF) is that so KNOWS Photoshop. Her career was in graphic design so she knows things and has access to things that I would never ever be able to know how to do.

My Christmas present to my BFF is Apple Pie infused Bourbon Whiskey. (Thankfully he's too busy to read the blog or be on Instagram....) But I know that he loves Apple Pie Moonshine. Both of us are too cheap to spend the amount of money on the brand name stuff ($30 a Mason Jar!) when you can buy a cheapie big bottle and infuse it ourselves!

I bought some whiskey (the bottom shelf brand!) infused with apples, cinnamon sticks and cloves for 2 weeks or so. Wow, is it ever cinnamony and smooth!

I made a version of this a couple of winter's ago (On this blog post and this recipe) and I don't think it REALLY matters what you use, (It's not like it HAS to have 2 apples cut in a perfect 1/4 slice or just THREE cinnamon sticks...) ju…

Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot 2014

It's a week post turkey-day, but since my giveaway is over (prepare for another awesome one again soon!) I am finally going to share my T-day with you!

In my small town, I was hunting for a turkey trot. I didn't want to drive 2 hours to Boise and I knew the Twin Falls YMCA was going to have one, but they didn't have any sign up links online. No info posted on the website other then "more information soon!" No, I don't want to sign up race day morning, I want to sign up, and be ready to run come race day morning!

THAT is why I chose to drive 40 minutes east of me for this race. The Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot HAD a website. And you could register! And if you shared the race on Facebook, you could save $1.00. Not much in savings but since this 5K was under $20, it was a total deal!

The week before T-Day, I found out that A LOT of the small towns around me we having Turkey Trots. Dang it! I was already registered for a race. Of course I had to read the newspape…
